were invited for the show by YK Sinha, the Indian Ambassador to the UK. This marks the second consecutive year when the designers will be showcasing their A/W couture collection in Europe. Last year, they had presented The Regiment, their A/W 2017 collection, in

at the invitation of the Indian Consulate there. “Representing the Indian fashion world through our collection at such a stage is both an honour and a responsibility and we will aim to show a blend of modernity and nostalgia – India through the lens of the

The collection was showcased at the India Couture Week 2018 in Delhi in July, and the designers say they will be expanding it a bit for the London show, adding more white to the palette. “The collection is an attempt to capture the virtue of India. It has a Nehruvian feel, but is very 21st century, which makes it perfect for the international stage,” says Shantanu. In fact, the designers say another thing that draws them to this opportunity is a chance to present their collection at the Saatchi Gallery, a popular contemporary art space. “The gallery is not the traditional ramp. It is much more theatrical and grand and it would be interesting to present our collection there,” Shantanu says.
