Several people feared trapped after house collapses in Delhi's Karol Bagh

NEW DEHI: At least three people died and 14 were injured after a portion of a house collapsed in central Delhi's Prasad Nagar near Karol Bagh market on Wednesday.

According to Delhi Fire Services (DFS), they received a call around 9.11 am about the incident. Five fire tenders, along with 30 firefighters, were rushed to the spot.

The debris was being carefully removed with the help of tools.

Atul Garg, director of DFS, said the search operation was going on in full swing.

According to DFS data, between January and August, 344 house collapse incidents took place, resulting in 22 fatalities and 172 injuries.

During the corresponding period in 2023, DFS personnel attended to 297 fire incidents. These incidents led to 18 fatalities and 110 injuries.
