NEW DELHI: A scooter rider was allegedly crushed to death by a DTC bus near the Uttam Nagar West metro station in southwest Delhi on Tuesday morning.According to police, locals alerted authorities soon after the accident.

A police team rushed to the spot and found the scooter in a severely damaged condition. The rider was lying motionless on the road and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Preliminary inquiry suggests that the bus allegedly ran over the rider. The busy area witnessed heavy traffic congestion following the incident, with commuters gathering around the accident site.The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to establish the exact cause of death. Police said they are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby cameras to ascertain the sequence of events. A case is being registered at the Uttam Nagar police station.
