NEW DELHI: The government’s latest directive to schools effectively means the death of the Ganguly committee formula.
Madhulika Sen, principal of Tagore International School (Vasant Vihar), said that in this scenario, there is no assurance that those children who couldn’t make it last year would be able to grab a seat this year.
The only good news for parents of those studying in nursery is that schools will now have to promote their kids to pre-primary, as per the DoE directive.
"Since we are monitoring the process of pre-school (nursery) admissions too, these children would be qualified for a direct promotion to pre-primary next year," said a government official. The decision to issue the directive was taken at the Delhi Education Advisory Board meeting held on Tuesday. It will be issued to schools soon.
