NEW DELHI: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said all schools, colleges, universities and other educational institutions will remain closed in the national capital till July 16.

Several government agencies have been pressed into service to evacuate people from the affected areas.
Kejriwal said Dellhi government's agencies engaged in non-essential work will also remain closed till Sunday and the staff would be asked to work from home.
"We are also issuing an advisory for private establishments to work from home as much as possible," Kejriwal said after the meeting, adding that the water level may start receding from Friday.
Officials from the LG Secretariat said that commercial establishments in and around the Kashmere Gate area, where the Yamuna water has spilled over the roads affecting normal life, have also been asked to close till Sunday.
Kejriwal said the buses coming to the inter-state bus terminals from northern states have been asked to terminate at Singhu Border. DTC buses are being pressed into service to ferry passengers from the border. Commercial vehicles carrying non-essential commodities are also being stopped at the border.

The chief minister also visited the water treatment plants near Wazirabad. He said that three plants were running at just 75 per cent of their capacity and people may have to face a crisis of potable water for a couple of days in several parts of the capital.
Since relief camps being set up by the district administrations were facing the problem of mobile toilets, Kejriwal said rescued people were being moved to schools.
