Ram Babu, mastermind of Bihar hooch tragedy, arrested in Delhi

NEW DELHI: The crime branch of Delhi Police on Saturday arrested Ram Babu Mahto, the mastermind of Bihar hooch tragedy.
Police said that Ram Babu Mahto, one of the most wanted accused, was arrested from Dwarka area of Delhi.
He is accused in two cases registered at PS Mashrak, and PS Isuapur of Saran district.
As per the information, he is involved in several cases of illicit liquor.
"Appropriate legal action is being taken and info about his arrest has been shared with Bihar Police for further action," ANI quoted crime Branch as saying.
As per reports, around 80 people died in these tragic incidents related to sale and consumption of spurious liquor, police said.
The recent incident also triggered a political slugfest in the Bihar assembly, with opposition leaders mounting a strong attack on Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar over the spate of spurious liquor deaths.
The liquor ban was imposed in Bihar by the Nitish Kumar government on April 6, 2016.
