NEW DELHI: The city may see light to very light rain on Thursday and rain intensity may increase from Friday onwards due to excessive moisture coming to the region.

On Wednesday, the city saw a humid day with overcast sky and rise in the maximum temperature. Ridge area witnessed drizzling towards afternoon. According to India Meteorological Department, rain activity will increase from Friday onwards under influence of different meteorological factors.
“On Thursday, there are chances of light to very light rain. However, on September 15 and 16, the rain activity may increase and even reach up to moderate level,” said Kuldeep Srivastava, weather scientist, IMD.
On Wednesday, the maximum temperature at base station Safdarjung was 36.1 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, against 34.3 degrees Celsius a day earlier. The minimum temperature was 25.7 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal. The humidity oscillated between 93% and 63%.
Meanwhile, city’s air quality deteriorated on Wednesday. The air quality index was 106 or “moderate” against 89 or “satisfactory” a day earlier.
