New Delhi: Public Works Department (PWD) is planning to prepare an integrated corridor improvement plan for Gandhi Nagar Road to ease traffic congestion. The plan will cover the stretch from Mother Dairy to Kashyap Mohalla.
The corridor connects dense residential and commercial neighbourhoods in east Delhi. Major nearby roads include Vikas Marg and Geeta Colony Road.

As part of the project, the department will undertake a detailed topographic survey of the proposed corridor. The survey will involve preparing maps and documenting existing ground levels, slopes, drains, manholes and permanent structures such as lamp posts and trees.
All existing utilities, including water pipelines, sewer lines, electrical cables and telecom ducts, will be identified and mapped along the entire stretch. The survey will also document the current road geometry, footpaths, medians and traffic islands.
In addition, another survey will be conducted to detect underground utilities and obstructions up to the required depth. The findings will be compiled into a detailed report and submitted to the department.
Based on these surveys, the consultant will prepare a preliminary project report. The report will also outline how the corridor will integrate with nearby road networks, public transport systems and the drainage network.
Additionally, the consultant will prepare 3D drawings and a walkthrough video of the proposed corridor design, and make presentations to the authorities concerned for approval when required. Later, the consultant will develop structural designs for all elements proposed in the plan.
