Projects worth 1,798 crore to boost local development under CM fund

New Delhi: Delhi govt has approved 3,812 projects worth Rs 1,798 crore under Chief Minister Development Fund to strengthen basic infrastructure across the city. The fund is designed to enable small but high-impact local development works.At a review meeting held at Delhi Secretariat on Friday, chief minister Rekha Gupta directed officials to expedite tendering and implementation of development works. She said that laxity in execution would not be tolerated.
These projects will focus on local infrastructure such as the construction and repair of roads and drains, improvement of water supply systems, installation of street lights and development of parks. The works are being executed through multiple govt agencies, including MCD, DJB and PWD.The CM also reviewed development works being undertaken under Delhi Village Development Board and Trans-Yamuna Area Development Board. The meeting was attended by DVDB chaJirman Rajkumar Chauhan, TYADB chairman Arvin-der Singh Lovely and senior govt officials.A total of 707 projects worth around Rs 1,557 crore were approved under DVDB to strengthen basic infrastructure and improve living standards in rural areas, while 799 projects worth about Rs 430 crore were also approved under TYADB to boost development in Trans-Yamuna areas. The works include the construction of roads and drains, drinking water facilities, parks, street lights, community buildings, school buildings and footbridges.
