NEW DELHI: The leading opposition party in the Delhi assembly, the BJP has submitted a notice on breach of privilege against chief minister Sheila Dikshit and MLA Mukesh Sharma to the Vidhan Sabha secretariat. The notice alleges violation of conduct rules for commenting on the lieutenant governor in the House on Thursday.
The CM and Sharma will now be required to respond to the notice by the BJP.

However, there is no stipulated time frame. BJP’s leader of the opposition in the Delhi assembly, V K Malhotra, had threatened to bring a privilege motion against the CM for making comments on the LG during a discussion on statehood on Friday. The notices in the name of the CM and Sharma have been served by the BJP to the secretariat of the assembly.
With the BJP continuing to demand for constitution of a house committee to probe the alleged corruption charges in the Commonwealth Games leading to a ruckus and much sloganeering on Friday, the party’s MLAs were expelled for three days from the proceedings of the House starting that very day.
