NEW DELHI: An Additional Solicitor General of India has been awarded an honorary doctorate in the field of law by a private university.
ASG Amarjit Singh Chandhiok, who handles matters related to the central government before the Delhi high court, was conferred the award in recognition of his distinguished career as a lawyer.
A senior advocate, ASG Chandhiok began practice almost four decades ago.
He has been defending the government in high profile cases including the 2G spectrum scam.
The senior lawyer was named Sikh of the year last year by a prominent international jurists body.
