NEW DELHI: A trial court on Monday directed Delhi Police to provide Jagtar Singh Hawara — chief of terrorist organisation Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) — a copy of the chargesheets filed against him in cases relating to twin blasts in Satyam and Liberty cinema halls in the capital in 2005.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav asked Delhi Police to give the accused — who is facing life term in assassination case of Punjab chief minister Beant Singh — the documents as he could not come to stand trial in Delhi due to his pending cases in Punjab.
The court fixed the matter for November 22 for scrutiny of documents.
Hawara was brought to Delhi from a Chandigarh jail on October 25 following a production warrant issued against him. He was directed to be lodged at high-security cell in the prison considering him to be a high-risk convict in the case of murder of Beant Singh. Hawara is wanted here in a case relating to twin blasts at Satyam and Liberty cinemas in May, 2005.
