NEW DELHI: Even as Madhu Sharma, wife of R K Sharma, prime accused in the Shivani murder case, accused the police of torturing her husband in custody, the police released a transcript of her conversation with her husband during their meeting at about 4.30 pm. Some of Madhu’s statements released by the police are as follows:
• Do you know who Mukandhar is, how he looks...should I tell?...I’ll talk to Paramveer also...who sent Mukandhar, how did he come or what will he do.
• My daughters and I are three times stronger than you...whom are they scaring, not me...apka case badia chal raha hai (your case is progressing well).
• We have to survive...if you want you can live in fear, we are not scared.
• Tum saro jail mein mujhe nahin sarna (you rot in jail, I don’t intend to)
• We are not scared of CBI inquiry.
Soon after meeting Sharma, Madhu told mediapersons gathered outside the Adarsh Nagar police station that her husband’s face was swollen when she met him on Saturday.
She also alleged that Delhi Police had drugged Sharma. ‘‘He was unable to talk and looked lost. He could reply back through actions,’’ she claimed. When Madhu Sharma reached the crime branch office, she was allowed to go in. On coming out she said her husband’s face was swollen.
Later, Madhu spoke to her husband in French so that the officers present could not understand her.
She also claimed that her daughters had followed a crime branch car on Friday when the police took Sharma out of the police station.
She also alleged that all the case diaries of the murder case had been destroyed and new case diaries had been written to ‘‘falsely implicate my husband’’.
The police did not allow Sharma’s daughters, Pragati and Komal, to meet their father. Joint commissioner of police (crime) U K Katna said: ‘‘He is being sent regularly for medical examination. His lawyer was also allowed to meet him. There is no way he had been tortured.’’
