These books, the police claimed, are being sold clandestinely in the market at one fourth the original price. Deputy commissioner of police (EOW) Dinesh Bhat said police had formed the team and an investigation was undertaken on a complaint of Akash Chittranshi Associates, authorised representatives of the publishers.
The team conducted a search at a shop in Connaught Place and stocks of the pirated books were found there.
The accused, Shukla, was subjected to interrogation on the spot. Shukla broke down during the questioning and led the police party to the premises where a huge stock of pirated books were found.
