Parvin Dabas’ parents live in Vasant Kunj and he visits Delhi at least thrice a year. He was conducting a Gurgaon for Kids workshop (a Times of India initiative) when we met him recently. The Hansraj College alumnus said, "I was part of the dramatics society and the basketball team for all three years. Those three years of campus life were great fun. What is difficult is the phase when you enter the professional world after college. Then you can’t be complacent anymore. Either you perform, or you get fired.” About Delhi, he says the food here tastes much better than it does in Mumbai. “From samosas to butter chicken, Delhi food tastes like heaven," he says.
Talking about Gurgaon, he said, "When I was growing up, Gurgaon was this distant place that had one or two nice restaurants, like 32nd Milestone, where you would go for outings once in a while. There are only a handful of landmarks from that time that I can recall – otherwise, the city’s changed completely. Now there’s Cyber Hub, where you have so many restaurants in one place. I’ve been there many times."
