NEW DELHI: Union minister for statistics and planning implementation Oscar Fernandes was granted bail by a city court on Wednesday in a case of manhandling and threatening. He was granted bail on personal bond of Rs 20,000.
Fernandes along with Ambika Soni, Mukul Wasnik and Krishna Tirath had been summoned in the court of metropolitan magistrate Sidharth Sharma.
The other three were exempted from appearance on Wednesday and have been issued fresh summon. The next date of hearing is December 8. The four Congress leaders were issued these summons on July 15. In August 2002, Purnima Sethi of the Bhartiya Janata Party registered a case at the Tughlak Road police station. She had accused the four of manhandling and threatening.
