Singh was produced in court and taken on remand for two days. He would be confronted with the arrested India Ahead channel executive Arvind Kumar Singh, officials said.

Claiming that Charanpreet had direct links with AAP, CBI sources alleged that he handled a chunk of the hawala money supposedly meant for Goa elections. "He was instrumental in receiving a part of the funds sent through hawala and making payments to the vendors," a source added.

Arvind Kumar Singh, arrested earlier, served as the commercial head and production controller of India Ahead news channel. He was arrested on May 12 and has been remanded to CBI's custody till May 18.

During investigation, CBI is learnt to have stumbled upon some WhatsApp chats and records of hawala operators, which allegedly showed that Singh was instrumental in the hawala transfers of Rs 17 crore between June 2021 and January 2022 to Chariot Media, which was handling the outdoor advertisement campaign for the Goa elections for AAP.
