NEW DELHI: The special cell sleuths on Thursday arrested a Nigerian and two others for cocaine peddling. Busari Jimoh, Alok Gupta and Gopal Krishan, nabbed from Chanakyapuri and Vasant Vihar, allegedly had links in the five-star party circuits and supplied the contraband to businessmen and bookies. The police said Jimoh sourced the cocaine from abroad and supplied it to the local agents.
"Jimoh, the Nigerian, supplied the drugs to Krishan, who in turn passed them on to Gupta. It was Gupta who sold the narcotics to businessmen at parties," said Ajay Kumar, DCP, special cell.
"Krishan imports food products and was an addict himself. He used to get his supply from Nigerian contacts he met at parties in five-star hotels. It is through these people that he got to know Jimoh and started dealing in cocaine," the officer added. These Nigerian nationals come to India one at a time and stay in Mumbai, from where they allegedly supply cocaine all over the country. Jimoh reached Delhi on September 28 and had been staying in Vasant Vihar since then. Gupta, the next link in the chain, would get drugs from Krishan and sell them to south Delhi-based businessmen. He told the police that he supplied cocaine to many people, including Puneet from Lodhi Estate, Rohit from Safdarjung, Rammi who runs a restaurant at Ashoka Hotel, Anish Sharma from Sainik Farms, and bookies Manoj, Mukesh and Rattan Sharma.
