New chief of zilla parishad

ghaziabad: amrish, also known as rajindri devi, was declared elected as zilla parishad president of ghaziabad here on sunday. district magistrate inderjit verma, who declared the results said amrish had polled 14 out of 24 votes. she contested as an independent. she is reported to be a niece of d p yadav, mp. sangeeta, who had the support of the lok dal, polled eight votes while lajya rani got two votes.lajya rani is the wife of district congress president, gajraj singh. voting was held in the district panchayat office in kavi nagar.
