New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath are on the list of BJP’s 40 star campaigners for the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi, which will vote on May 25.

BJP national president JP Nadda and chief ministers of several party-run states are also part of the list, which was released by national general secretary Arun Singh on Monday. The name of Arvinder Singh Lovely, who recently quit as Delhi Congress chief and joined BJP on Saturday, also features on it.
Among the BJP chief ministers who are going to campaign for the seven candidates are Uttarakhand’s Pushkar Singh Dhami, Madhya Pradesh’s Mohan Yadav, Rajasthan’s Bhajan Lal Sharma, Assam’s Himanta Biswa Sarma and Haryana’s Nayab Singh Saini.
The list features outgoing city MPs who are out of the race this time — Harsh Vardhan, Meenakshi Lekhi, Parvesh Verma, Ramesh Bidhuri and Gautam Gambhir. Sitting MP Manoj Tiwari, only incumbent BJP parliamentarian from Delhi to get a ticket, will also campaign across the city. Other prominent campaigners include Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Hardeep Singh Puri, Smriti Irani and Arjun Ram Meghawal.
Hema Malini, the sitting Mathura MP who is also a candidate this time, will also campaign, besides Maharashtra deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, Rajasthan’s Prem Chand Bairwa and Diya Kumari, and Bihar’s Samrat Chaudhary.
Senior functionaries Arun Singh, Tarun Chugh, Anil Baluni, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Vijender Gupta, Satish Updahyay, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva and Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai also feature among the star campaigners.
BJP is contesting all seven seats against the AAP-Congress combine in the city. A senior BJP functionary said an intense campaigning would be undertaken by the party as Delhi would vote at a later stage and several senior politicians’ elections would be over by then. A large-scale campaign will start by May 10, he added.
