NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court on Friday dismissed a petition challenging the appointment of an advisor by the Medical Council of India’s (MCI) administrator. A Bench comprising Justice R C Chopra and Justice S K Kaul dismissed the petition saying that there was no public interest involved in it.
The court said the petition filed by Dr Raghunath Subbaramanaiah Kumar ‘appeared’ to be motivated.
The petitioner had challenged the June 18 order of MCI administrator S P Jhingon appointing Dr Amitabh Verma as advisor to assist him in managing the affairs of MCI. The court observed that there was no reason for the apprehension expressed by the petitioner about the integrity of the advisor.
