MCD to deploy 1,000 fogging machines to fight dengue
NEW DELHI: Mayor Shelly Oberoi on Monday announced that Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) would deploy 1,000 fogging machines to control the spread of dengue.
"Fogging will be started from Tuesday with more than 1,000 machines in 250 wards of Delhi. MCD is checking mosquito larvae at around 1.5 lakh places daily. Notices are being sent and challans are being issued when larvae are found in houses," said Oberoi. MCD has, however, not released its weekly dengue report for one and a half months.
In view of the recent rain and waterlogging, Oberoi held a review meeting with the public health department for the prevention of mosquito-borne diseases. The situation is under control, she claimed.
The mayor instructed officials to identify breeding hotspots in all zones. According to MCD, more than 3,000 domestic breeding checkers and 2,000 field workers of the municipal corporation are going door to door in a mission mode to spot mosquito breeding and destroy them. Oberoi told officials that the mosquito breeding complaints registered on the MCD 311 app by Delhiites should be resolved on priority.

We commend such initiatives and are proud to contribute to public health efforts that help protect communities from mosquito-borne diseases.Read allPost comment
