MCD official assaulted

NEW DELHI: A contractor, registered with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), allegedly manhandled an official and a junior engineer in Subhash Nagar.
The contractor, Sandeep Bhardwaj, owned a construction firm in Uttam Nagar. On Thursday, Bhardwaj and his associates came to the MCD office in Subhash Nagar to recover a draft.
When the clerk refused to oblige Bhardwaj, he started abusing and manhandling him, west zone deputy commissioner K D Akolia said.
