NEW DELHI: A 38-year-old man was attacked at least nine times with scissors allegedly by a 22-year-old who was asked to not smoke inside a barber shop in southwest Delhi's Kishangarh area on Monday, police said, the accused, who was inebriated at the time of the incident, has been arrested.
Abhay Kumar had gone for a haircut when he asked the accused, Mohit Mahlawat alias Manu, to drag on his cigarette outside as he was allergic to smoke. Mahlawat started arguing with Kumar and eventually started attacking him with scissors.
Kumar was admitted to the hospital and his condition was stated to be stable, police said.
A case of attempt to murder has been registered against Mahlawat who is the son of the barber's landlord.
