Man beats father to death in southwest Delhi

NEW DELHI: In the Bindapur area of southwest Delhi, a 75-year-old man fell victim to a fatal beating, purportedly at the hands of his own son, police said on Wednesday.
The Bindapur police station received information about the murder, result of a dispute that transpired in Om Vihar, situated in Uttam Nagar. The report was filed by a senior police official at 8.26pm on Tuesday.
According to deputy commissioner of police (Dwarka) M Harsha Vardhan, the unfolding of events involved a demand made by Gaurav Arora (37), the son of the deceased, Nand Lal Arora.Gaurav Arora allegedly demanded a sum of Rs 4 lakh from his father, which led to an escalating quarrel between them.
The quarrel took a deadly turn, with Gaurav Arora purportedly resorting to physical violence that resulted in the demise of his father.
Subsequently, Gaurav Arora was apprehended by the police and taken into custody. The authorities are pursuing appropriate legal actions in response to this grievous incident.
