New Delhi: Giving the common man credit for the odd-even plan, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chief
Ajay Maken on Friday took on the AAP government for thrusting the scheme upon people without making adequate arrangements for public transport.
Maken also attacked the state's expenditure on the odd-even ad campaign alleging the AAP government was focusing more on publicity than actual work on the ground.
"Before implementing the plan, the Delhi government should have prepared public transport. If the restrictions are working, the credit goes to the people of Delhi who are putting themselves under constraints and abiding by the decision," he said.
"What has the government done to facilitate people's short-term and long-term public transport needs?" Maken asked. The state Congress chief also lambasted the state government on the education loan scheme. "Delhi government spent crores of rupees on ads to credit themselves for the education loan scheme. But in reality it is fraught with such unexplained traps that no student came forward to avail of it," he said.
