Left is right in JNU election results
NEW DELHI: On Saturday morning, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students affirmed their preference for the colour red. All the four central panel posts of the JNU students union (JNUSU) went to the Left-oriented organisations, AISA (All India Students Association) and SFI (Students Federation of India).
Mona Das and Ena Panda, both from the AISA, romped home with huge margins for the post of president and vice president respectively.

The remaining two posts of general secretary and joint secretary went to Muqbil Ahmar and Shona Mitra, both of the SFI.
The only seat that seemed to go near the wire was for the post of general secretary, where the NSUI candidate gave SFI a run for its money.
Celebrations were the order of the day, with SFI planning a jaloos at Ganga Dhaba later in the evening. As Ahmar said: "Left ideology has won the day."
