NEW DELHI: A message to all of Delhi''s smokers — a good 60% of the population. Mr Tobacco is dead. Mr & Mrs Tobacco is a new health awareness module launched by the Heart Care Foundation of India (HFCI) a month ago when the new tobacco bill was passed.
Mr & Mrs Tobacco symbolised active and passive smoking respectively. Mr Tobacco''s effigy will be taken all over Delhi to spread awareness about the tobacco menace.

The procession will culminate at the Lodhi crematorium on Sunday, in the presence of Delhi health minister Yoganand Shastri and industries minister Mangat Ram Singhal, who will light his pyre.
Terming the campaign cost-effective, HFCI president Dr K K Aggrawal said it can be replicated by other states to tackle problems like polio.
Adding star value at the occasion was former Miss India Manpreet Brar. "Non-smokers should bring about a movement and should make the smokers feel ashamed of smoking in public," she said. Also present on the occasion was secretary, department of science and technology, Anuj Sinha.
