NEW DELHI: Former Delhi CM Madan Lal Khurana on Friday opened a front to lead the fight against demolitions in the city.Announcing the formation of Delhi Bachao Manch, Khurana said demolitions have to be stopped. Suspended BJP MLA Harsharan Singh Balli will be the president of the front while MLA Dayanand Chandela, who had joined BJP after winning the election as an independent, will be its general secretary.
On his suspension from the BJP, Khurana said: "I won't speak on the issue till the end of this month. A senior party leader has asked me to keep quiet for sometime." His attempt to obey the advice indicates that he is hopeful of being taken back in the party once again. Khurana, however, said he had not received any showcause notice from BJP. Hopeful or not, Khurana did not mince words in supporting expelled rebel leader Uma Bharati's janadesh rally this week. Khurana had defied party directives against joining Bharati's rally. He said he was a fierce proponent of Sangh ideology that the former Madhya Pradesh CM has pledged to pursue.
