Registrations for 1,000 assistance to women to begin soon, says Kejriwal

New Delhi: AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal said that the registration process for the Rs 1,000 monthly assistance for women under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana would begin soon. Leading a padyatra in Burari, he stated that AAP govt was committed to ensuring the welfare of Delhi's residents. He said, "I was a very small and ordinary man. Ten to 12 years ago, no one knew who Arvind Kejriwal was in this country. Maybe you saw my truthfulness and honesty in giving me this responsibility. Ever since you people gave me the command of Delhi, I tried to serve the people of Delhi by working hard 24 hours a day." The AAP supremo further said that almost everybody in Delhi received a zero electricity bill at least once in their lives. BJP governs 20 states, yet not one of them offers zero electricity bills, he added. He criticised BJP for not prioritising the needs of the common people.
Electricity is not only free in Delhi but also available round-the-clock, Kejriwal said further.
Hitting back, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said Kejriwal could no longer mislead the people of Delhi. "People of Delhi very well know that all billed consumers of power discoms are being looted in the name of PPAC charges, pension surcharge," he claimed. tnn
