2 minors stabbed to death in Delhi's Rohini clash; 14-year-old apprehended
NEW DELHI: Two minors were stabbed to death on Wednesday evening by another minor after a clash between the trio and group of people they had attacked in north-west Delhi’s Rohini.
The boys who died in the stabbing were between 16 and 17 years old. The boy who has been apprehended for the alleged stabbing is about 14 years old.
Investigators said the stabbings happened in Rohini Sector 20 when the three minors came to the area allegedly seeking revenge for the murder of a friend in Jan.
Police said the trio had come from Sultanpuri in search of another minor, who they suspected had provided shelter to those involved in the Jan murder. Sources said the three, armed with weapons, went looking for the boy but failed to find him. During the search, an altercation broke out between them and members of a family in the locality. Police said the dispute turned violent, and the trio allegedly assaulted a woman and her son, causing injuries to both.
As the trio allegedly attempted to flee, the son and several others chased them. During this pursuit, a knife slipped from the hands of one of the fleeing boys. The 14-year-old from the other group picked up the knife and attacked two boys, stabbing one in the neck and the other in the abdomen and chest.
Both collapsed on the road. Police teams from Aman Vihar police station reached the spot and rushed the injured to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared the two minors dead. The third boy is being treated.
Senior police officers and a forensic team inspected the crime scene and collected evidence, including the knife. Police said a minor has been apprehended.
Police sources said cross-cases have been registered by both sides, including charges of murder and attempted murder.
