GHAZIABAD: Two men kidnapped the eight-year-old son of an industrialist from the posh Rajinder Nagar II area in Ghaziabad on Friday evening. The men then drove away with the class III student in their white Maruti car. The boy's father runs an inverter unit in Delhi.
Ghaziabad police chief L Ravi Kumar said, "The boy, Mukul Jain, had walked down to a sweet shop nearby.
Meanwhile, a Maruti car was stationed near a neighbour's house. A 16-year-old boy was sitting on the house's boundary wall and made a signal. Immediately, the two in the car drove toward Mukul, stopped next to him and quickly picked up the boy and drove away,'' The police do not rule out the role of the 16-year-old boy, living near the kidnapped boy's home.
The kidnappers escaped towards Loni, but the motive behind the act was not immediately known. The kidnapping took place less than 20 meters from the Karan Gate police post, under the Sahibabad police station.
