IndiGo Flight Chaos Across India: Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru Worst Hit; 180+ Services Cancelled

Several flights to Delhi were delayed by 4–6 hours and rescheduled repeatedly — some passengers waiting the whole day unsure whether flights would operate at all. A family desperate to attend a funeral broke down as prices surged beyond ₹35,000 and no seats opened.

​At Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport, a total of 12 flights — including both arrivals and departures — were cancelled on Thursday, while several remaining services experienced rolling delays. Airport staff advised passengers to stay connected to live flight status rather than rely on scheduled timings. Travellers complained of limited announcements, last-minute gate changes and lack of clarity on alternative travel options, with many unable to rebook due to sudden fare surges.

​With 48 departures and 47 arrivals cancelled since morning — plus multiple delayed services — Delhi Airport turned into a sea of confused travellers, stuck in serpentine queues with multiple screens and WhatsApp alerts showing contradictory information.

Mumbai faced one of the worst disruptions — 41 arrivals and 45 departures cancelled — triggering long lines, missed connections and complete customer-care breakdown. Some passengers claimed they learned of cancellations only after reaching the terminal.

​At Kempegowda Airport, 41 arrivals and 32 departures were cancelled while dozens more were delayed endlessly. With seating full, travellers slept on the terminal floor overnight as crew shortages and tech issues pushed flyers into exhaustion.

Dozens of flights were cancelled and delayed for more than 12 hours — anger spilling into protests at airport counters. Flyers said cancellations were delayed intentionally, preventing hotel and compensation eligibility under policy rules.

Chennai saw cascading delays and cancellations, with several flights re-routed only to be cancelled again. One flyer travelled Mumbai → Chennai → Port Blair en route to Kolkata — only to receive SMS mid-transit that the final flight was cancelled too.

With cancellations stacking up nationwide, Kochi issued a rare passenger advisory urging travellers to check schedules before leaving home — acknowledging widespread operational failure affecting multiple domestic carriers, IndiGo worst hit.

While cancellation numbers varied through the day, most IndiGo flights from Ahmedabad experienced major delays — repeatedly rescheduled by hours at a time. Passengers waited without food vouchers, power outlets or accurate updates, calling it “airport limbo.”
