NEW DELHI:
BJP on Friday protested against the AAP government for its alleged failure to fulfil the pre-poll promises. However, BJP leaders turned up at Rajghat wearing caps inspired by those of AAP. The caps were in saffron and had 'Modi for PM' written on them.
Attacking AAP for its inaction against former chief minister Sheila Dikshit and her council of ministers, BJP leaders Harshvardhan, Vijay Goel, Vijendra Gupta and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi challenged Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to take action against them.
When asked about the AAP-styled caps, Naqvi said they were not inspired by AAP as those caps have always been an integral part of BJP's campaign. "We have not imitated any party nor are the caps a patent right of anyone," Naqvi further said.
Taking a dig at AAP leader, former state BJP chief Vijendra Gupta said, "Why is Kejriwal silent against the top leaders of Congress? When bodies like Comptroller and Auditor General and the Lokayukta have given proof against Sheila Dikshit and Rajkumar Chouhan, what is stopping the so-called crusader against corruption from taking any action?"
BJP also criticized the free water supply scheme announced by the government. It said that only 3% of Delhi population has a water meter and only they would be benefitted, while the people belonging to slums, unregularized colonies, water-starved areas like Dwarka, Delhi Cannt would have to fend for themselves.
The party that came to power by promising to curb price rise is indulging in the same today, alleged Harshvardhan. He added that within some days of government formation, prices of gas, CNG, water, petrol and diesel have hiked.
On 50% power tariff cut, Vijay Goel asked Delhiites to wait for their bills before jumping any conclusions. "I caution you to wait for the bills before believing that the move will benefit them." Goel also attacked the anti-corruption helpline as a method of "fooling the people of Delhi".
