sahib singh was reacting to a report in this paper that igl had distributed sewing machines at sahib singh's residence in delhi, and that they had sought his help in getting clearance for a cng pipeline passing through the city. the report also said that sahib singh had asked the igl officers who went to his house to provide cng gas stations to four unemployed young men. sahib singh said the distribution of sewing machines at his residence was not his doing but the effort of igl. he said he had not asked for cng stations for the young men, but had ''merely requested'' jobs as cng station assistants for the four men. they were poor and in need of help. ''it is also incorrect to say the programme was held with a purpose. i myself went to the igl office and requested them to give machines, as they always spend money on social projects,'' singh said. the media, he said, were also invited by the igl and not by him.
