NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old man was found stabbed to death near a public toilet in East Delhi’s Kalyanpuri, police said on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Mukesh. Police received information via a PCR call that the man was declared brought dead at Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) Hospital.
“Mukesh was found lying with stab injuries near a public toilet in Block 18 of Kalyanpuri. He was shifted to the hospital by a beat constable, where doctors pronounced him dead. The body was preserved in the hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination,” a police officer said.
A crime team inspected the scene of the incident; however, no CCTV cameras were found in the vicinity. Police sources said the deceased was a known bad character and history-sheeter of Kalyanpuri Police Station.
Police are probing whether he was attacked by someone because of personal enmity or some other dispute.
A case was registered under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Kalyanpuri Police Station. Police initiated efforts to identify and apprehend the accused.
