High court gets 3 additional judges

NEW DELHI: Three additional judges were on Friday sworn in to the Delhi High Court by Chief Justice B C Patel. Anil Kumar, Gita Mittal and Sripathi Ravindra Bhat have been appointed additional judges of the high court for two years.

NEW DELHI: Three additional judges were on Friday sworn in to the Delhi High Court by Chief Justice B C Patel. Anil Kumar, Gita Mittal and Sripathi Ravindra Bhat have been appointed additional judges of the high court for two years.
With their appointment, the number of judges in the Delhi High Court has gone up to 28 against the sanctioned strength of 33.

Earlier this month, two judges from the lower judiciary were elevated to the high court, while another was transferred here from the Karnataka High Court.
Last year, the Centre had announced increasing the strength of the Delhi High Court to 36 judges but it is yet to be notified in the official gazette.
