NEW DELHI: Delhi environment minister Gopal Rai launched an internship portal, https://internship.eforest.delhi.gov.in, for youths interested in the environment and forest field during the fourth Van Mahotsav on Sunday at Polo Ground, Delhi University.

Rai said, "The main objective of this portal is to make today's youth aware of the functioning of forest and wildlife department. Through this portal, they will be able to contribute to furthering the ecological security of Delhi." He said the programme would help enable the youth to explore their interests in the field of forest and wildlife and create awareness about green jobs. It will help in the discovery of new technologies and techniques not only for youth but also for the department.

The minister said the portal would provide information regarding who could apply, how they could apply, the process of selection, domains of internship and contact details for help in availing of the facility.

Rai said an online portal was started by the department for distribution of saplings from where Delhi residents can book free saplings, to ensure the successful outcome of the Green Action Plan.
