NEW DELHI: Seven students of a private school in south Delhi, returning home in their school bus, were beaten up with rods and hammers after they objected to a group of hooligans passing lewd remarks on girl students at Tigri Chowk in Sangam Vihar on Wednesday afternoon.
One of the students, Gagan Choudhury (14) developed acute breathing problems after he was hit by the hooligans on the chest and stomach with a hammer.
He is in ICU at Batra Hospital. Three other children were also taken to the hospital, including Gagan’s cousin, Rahul Choudhary, who received stitches for wounds behind his ear.
