Gold screening for hockey legend Balbir Singh in Delhi

The makers of 'Gold', along with Akshay Kumar, have planned a special screening of the film in Delhi today, which will be attended by Balbir Singh.The hockey legend was part of the Indian team at the 1948 London Olympics and played a key role in India’s win. The day, August 12, marks the 70th anniversary of Independent India’s first gold medal, which was won at the 1948 Olympics.
The Akshay Kumar-starrer, helmed by Reema Kagti, is all set to release on August 15. The story revolves around Independent India’s first Olympic gold medal win.
Balbir Singh, along with the Indian sports stars like Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar, Sania Mirza, PV Sindhu, Abhinav Bindra, Vijender Singh, and Sunil Chhetri are also part of a special video in which they share the feeling of winning medals for the country. The video will also be released at the screening.
