Ghaziabad gets fifth SSP in five months
GHAZIABAD: On Wednesday evening, Ghaziabad got its fifth senior superintendent of police (SSP) in five months. Raj Kumar Kureel, who took charge as Ghaziabad SSP only last Monday, was shifted to Bijnor hours after he held his first press briefing and outlined his plans to "create a better law and order climate'' in the district.
Kureel has been reportedly replaced by Akhil Kumar who was, until Wednesday, the SSP of Lucknow.

Kumar had earlier achieved successes when he was posted with the special task force of the state police.
Kureel was earlier the Bulandshahr district police chief and had taken charge on Monday as the fourth SSP of Ghaziabad in less than five months. He replaced former Ghaziabad SSP B R Meena, who had a 20 day tenure as the SSP in Ghaziabad. Before B R Meena, L Ravi Kumar served as the SSP with a tenure of just over four months. Kumar had replaced Deepak Ratan, who went on deputation to Madhya Pradesh last September.
