NEW DELHI: What began as a silent campaign to demand justice for Aarushi Talwar turned into a show of solidarity for her father, Dr Rajesh Talwar, on Thursday. Aarushi's school friends from DPS Noida and supporters of the family gathered at the Jantar Mantar to light candles, start a signature campaign and stand by the Talwar couple against the CBI's closure report that points an accusing finger at them.

Aarushi's cousins, relatives and even Talwar's patients were present at the silent protest organized by her classmates.
Sitting around life-size pictures of Aarushi, her teary-eyed friends said it was time her killers were nabbed. Aarushi was found murdered in her Jalvayu Vihar house in Noida on May 15, 2008. A day later, the family's servant Hemraj's body was discovered on the terrace.
Aarushi's friends said they were disturbed by CBI's accusations against her parents. Ashna Sirohi, who had studied with Aarushi since nursery, said, "CBI is known to solve the most difficult of cases. But why has it shut Aarushi's case? It's been more than two years since the incident took place. Nobody knows how long it will take to find out the culprit."
Another Aarushi's classmate, Riti Wig, said, "Aarushi was a cheerful girl. She was a good student. Her parents gave her whatever she wanted. Her father never ever scolded her. She was never critical of them"
Aarushi's classmates say they have been in touch with her parents all along and hope to mobilize support for the Talwars until justice is done to Aarushi. "Today, our entire circle of friends is here. We hope to take it further from here till Aarushi gets justice," said Vidushi Durani, a friend.
Aarushi's cousin, 17-year-old Shreya, said, "Her parents say they don't have a reason to live now. They are living only to get justice for Aarushi."

Rajesh Talwar's patients and even the members of Indian Dental Association (IDA) vouched for his generosity and benevolent nature. "CBI is just saying what the Noida police had said. It's like covering one sham with another. CBI's report should be based on scientific evidence," said Dr Anup Kanase, secretary of IDA.
Dr Usha Nayar, who has known Talwar since he was a child, said, "He has been humble all his life. I can't even think that such accusations would be levelled against him."
Nisha Singh, a patient of Talwar for several years, said, "One may not know every aspect of a person, but Dr Talwar is the kindest of person I have ever known. He talks about Aarushi often."
