He didn't suffer any injuries though the car was damaged.
The incident happened around 10:30 am when the woman, Harbans Kaur, was going for shopping. The bus, which was being driven at a high speed, suddenly swerved and broke the divider as it came to the other side. The driver is absconding now and the cops believe he could have fallen asleep at the wheel though it's just a conjecture.
Harbans Kaur was rushed to AIIMS where she was declared brought dead. The victim's son, Gagandeep Singh (24), works for an MNC in Gurgaon and her husband lives in the US.
"We dialled a number on the lady's cellphone and it turned out to be that of a friend of her son, Gaurav. He was asked to bring Gagandeep to the hospital," said a police officer.
The driver ran away from the spot right after the accident. The auto driver, Saddam Ali, a resident of Sangam Vihar, was also injured and is now admitted at AIIMS. The bus has been impounded and its owner is being questioned.
Interestingly, according to the cops, Saddam is only 18 years old and was driving without a licence and permit. "We are verifying his credentials as his friends say he has been driving the auto for the past four years. This is quite disturbing and we are trying to find out how he managed to do this for such a long time," said a cop. A case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving has been registered against the driver of the bus.

In another incident, a biker died and his friend was injured after hitting a divider at Shakarpur early morning on Tuesday. The victims, identified as Ravi Mondal (25) and Deepak Das (24), were returning home to Gandhinagar from CP where they work in a private company. They were on the new ITO-Geeta Colony Road and for some reason, instead of turning left towards Gandhinagar, they went straight and hit the divider around 1 am. Mondal died on the spot while Das is admitted at GTB Hospital in a critical state.
In another accident, 25-year-old Sanjeev Kumar died after his bike, driven bu his cousin, Sanjay, hit a truck and was dragged for a long distance at Mandawli on Tuesday morning around 2 am. Sanjay was admitted to GTB Hospital in a critical state. Apparently the accident happened because the red light at the Singhla Sweet House signal was not working.
