Former defence minister AK Antony's driver commits suicide
NEW DELHI: Former defence minister and senior Congress leader AK Antony’s driver allegedly committed suicide at the former’s residence at Jantar Mantar road on Friday afternoon.
According to police, the matter came to fore when a PCR call was made from the spot, soon after which a team was rushed to the spot and the man taken to hospital where he was declared dead.
Police said that the man, identified as Sanjay Singh (35) worked as a driver at the MP’s house since the last couple of years. He was found dead inside the service quarters, where he had been living ever since he started working with the MP.
He was found hanging by one of the servants who works there. He told the cops that when Singh did not get up at his usual time, he knocked his room's door, but got no answer. His phone calls too went unattended. He then raised an alarm and told others who broke open his door and found him hanging.
