FIR filed against Samajwadi Party leader Shambhu Nath Yadav for abducting woman in UP
NEW DELHI: Police have booked a Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and another individual for allegedly abducting a 22-year-old woman in Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh. The woman was reported missing after visiting the house of SP leader Shambhu Nath Yadav on September 25.Deputy superintendent of police Mohammad Faheem Qureshi stated that the woman’s father filed a complaint against Shambhu Nath Yadav and Pankaj Yadav, also known as Arpit. The complaint expressed concerns about the woman's safety, citing Shambhu Nath Yadav's criminal record.The FIR alleges that Pankaj Yadav abducted the woman with assistance from Shambhu Nath Yadav. An investigation into the incident is ongoing. SP district spokesperson Sushil Pandey confirmed Shambhu Nath Yadav's affiliation with the party and his past role as president of the district cooperative bank.
