DUSU president under fire for gun picture

NEW DELHI: Congress students’ wing, NSUI, on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the dean of students’ welfare Delhi University and demanded strict action against those who bring weapons to the

DUSU

office.

NSUI staged a protest against DUSU

president

, Amit Tanwar, whose

picture

was circulated in social media where he is seen with rifles on a table in DUSU office during a memorial service of his brother on October 1.

In the memorandum, NSUI alleged that some DU authorities and security officials didn’t take the complaint of “some armed goons” forcefully entering the DUSU office seriously. The incident has brought disrepute to the university and the union, NSUI said.
