Drunk man crashes car into police booth near Jantar Mantar

New Delhi: A drunk man crashed his car into an integrated police booth after colliding with an electricity pole near Jantar Mantar, police said on Monday. According to the FIR, at 6.30am on Feb 1, a cop on patrolling duty on Tolstoy Road saw the car hit a footpath, then an electricity pole and then crash into a police booth. “The car driver, identified as Nikhil Sood, a resident of Palam Village, was asked to step out of his car and was found to be under the influence of alcohol,” an officer said. Cops said that he was taken to a hospital for a medical examination, where he refused to a blood test. Later, Sood was taken to a police station and a breathalyzer test was conducted, which confirmed the presence of alcohol. “A case under IPC and Motor Vehicle Act was registered. Further investigation was underway,” the officer said. TNN
