NEW DELHI: The Congress on Friday reconstituted the Pradesh Congress Committee executive and set up manifesto and publicity committees. The new team strikes a balance between factions loyal to DPCC
chief J P Agrawal
and chief minister Sheila Dikshit
. Both the new committees will be headed by Agrawal, while the CM will remain in those as ex-officio member.
A lot of senior leaders are also part of the panels.
Surprisingly, tainted leaders such as Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar have been included as ‘permanent invitees'. The two were denied tickets in the previous Lok Sabha elections due to their alleged role in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. AICC general secretaries Ajay Maken and Janardan Dwivedi, Union ministers Kapil Sibal and Krishna Tirath are permanent invitees to the 23-member DPCC executive. The manifesto committee also has Kiran Walia, Ramakant Goswami, Arvinder Singh Lovely, Vishwabhandu Gupta, Dhirendra Tyagi, Suresh Mallick, Abhijit Singh Gulati, Mukesh Goyal, Farhad Suri and Varyam Kaur.
The publicity committee has Rajkumar Chauhan, J K Jain, Karan Singh, Anil Bhardwaj, Devendra Yadav, Abhishek Dutt, Amrita Dhawan, Sanjay Puri, Brahma Yadav and A Sharma as members.
