53 flights cancelled, around 120 delayed at fog-hit Delhi airport; IMD predicts no relief for 2-3 days

NEW DELHI: Around 120 flights have been delayed at Delhi's IGI Airport after dense fog engulfed the national capital on Wednesday morning. The affected flights include both domestic and international.

"A total of 53 flights including 21 domestic arrivals, 16 domestic departures, 13 international departures and 3 international arrivals scheduled are cancelled and not operating due to fog and other operational reasons from and to Delhi airport," reports news agency ANI quoting Delhi Airport FIDS (Flight Information Display System).

The national capital woke up to yet another freezing day as the minimum temperature dropped to 4 degrees Celsius.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), respite from the cold wave is unlikely soon and the dense fog could continue for two to four more days.
