A Delhi School of Economics student residing in North Campus’ Mansarovar Hostel was allegedly beaten up by four senior students on Tuesday when he refused to join them for an election campaign.

NEW DELHI: A Delhi School of Economics student residing in North Campus’ Mansarovar Hostel was allegedly beaten up by four senior students on Tuesday when he refused to join them for an election campaign.
A case of causing hurt has been registered at the Maurice Nagar police station but no one has been arrested. MA-final student Abhimanyu Chauhan stated he was studying at the library on August 21 and had come down for tea.

“Chauhan was standing downstairs when the four, all DU students pursuing MPhil or PhD, asked him to join them for the campaign. When he refused, he was dragged to the hostel gates and beaten up,’’ said a cop. He was then taken to a hospital. “Raids were carried out to nab the accused,’’ said Sindhu Pillai, DCP.
